Business Unit Head - Cosmetics
Role Overview
As the Business Unit Head - Cosmetics categories -, you will drive the strategic direction, commercial growth, and operational excellence for make-up, lenses, and nails categories. You will own the P&L, optimize product assortment and inventory, lead a high-performing team, and collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless execution and exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- P&L Ownership: Full profit & loss responsibility for the cosmetics business unit.
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a robust strategy for cosmetics categories to drive growth, profitability, and market leadership.
- Category Management: Manage product assortment, including launching new products and retiring underperforming SKUs based on market and customer data.
- Inventory & Availability: Ensure optimal inventory management and product availability, working closely with Supply Chain and Planning teams to minimize stockouts and excess stock.
- Partnerships & Negotiations: Lead supplier and brand negotiations, securing differentiated e-commerce partnerships and innovative product offerings.
- Pricing & Promotions: Define pricing strategy and promotional activities to maximize competitiveness and profitability.
- Digital Merchandising: Collaborate with UX/UI, product, and content teams to deliver best-in-class online category presentation and merchandising.
- Business Analytics: Monitor KPIs, customer insights, and market trends to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
- Budgeting & Financial Management: Lead annual planning, budgeting, and performance reviews aligned with commercial goals and financial targets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Tech, Finance, and Customer Care teams to ensure smooth execution and unified customer experience.
- Trend & Competitor Analysis: Stay abreast of market and digital trends to adapt and future-proof the business unit strategy.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team dedicated to exceeding customer expectations.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Digital Commerce, or a related field.
- 6–10 years’ experience in e-commerce and/or beauty consumer goods, with at least 3 years in senior leadership or business unit roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in digital category management, inventory control, commercial analytics, and supplier negotiations.
- High proficiency in Excel and digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Power BI, or equivalent.
- Strong commercial, strategic, and decision-making skills.
- Full professional fluency in Arabic and English.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional digital environment.
