Packaging Designer
Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Packaging Designer to join our product and brand teams. This role focuses on designing functional, on-brand packaging solutions across physical and digital touchpoints, ensuring exceptional shelf presence, manufacturability, and sustainability. The ideal candidate combines strong visual design skills, technical packaging knowledge, and a collaborative mindset to bring products to life from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop packaging solutions (primary, secondary, and tertiary) for multiple brands, ensuring alignment with each brand’s identity and business objectives.
Create and develop visual identities, including design systems, typography, color palettes, and brand guidelines for each brand.
Produce structural and graphic packaging designs, including dielines, mockups, and proofs.
Prepare high-quality, production-ready files, ensuring compliance with printing and manufacturing requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams (Brand, Product, Marketing) to ensure designs align with brand direction and product requirements.
Coordinate with factories, suppliers, and printing vendors to ensure accurate execution of designs according to approved specifications.
Review samples, conduct pre-production checks, and support production runs to ensure quality and accuracy.
Ensure all designs comply with regulatory, labeling, and material requirements in target markets.
Optimize packaging designs to support sustainability goals by selecting appropriate materials and reducing waste.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing all stages from concept to final production.
Organize and maintain packaging assets and files, ensuring consistency across products and brands.
Stay up to date with the latest packaging trends, materials, and technologies to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Packaging Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience in packaging design within consumer goods, retail, or a related industry.
Proven portfolio demonstrating structural packaging, dielines, and graphic design applied to retail products.
Legal authorization to work in the hiring country.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and experience creating dielines and print-ready artwork.
Understanding of structural design principals, carton construction, materials (paperboard, corrugate, flexible), and manufacturing processes.
Strong visual design sensibility, typography, color management, and attention to detail.
Experience preparing specifications, technical drawings, and working with print vendors and converters.
Knowledge of labeling, regulatory, and sustainability considerations relevant to consumer packaging.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to align cross-functional stakeholders and manage feedback effectively.
Organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
