Category Manager – Cosmetics
Join Nice One as a Category Manager - Cosmetics to lead category strategy, assortment planning, and commercial growth for our cosmetics portfolio. Primary Responsibilities – Own category performance and commercial execution
Develop and execute the category strategy for cosmetics, aligning assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising to drive sales, margin, and market share.
Own assortment planning and lifecycle management: define core ranges, seasonal introductions, and discontinuations based on consumer insights, sales data, and supplier collaboration.
Set and monitor category KPIs (sales, margin, inventory turns, sell-through, distribution) and produce regular performance reports with actionable recommendations.
Lead SKU-level demand forecasting and inventory optimization to ensure in-stock availability while minimizing excess and markdowns.
Manage supplier relationships including negotiation of commercial terms, promotional participation, launch planning, and performance reviews to maximize value.
Collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to deliver cohesive promotional plans, point-of-sale materials, and omnichannel execution.
Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify trends, white-space opportunities, and pricing strategies; translate insights into category initiatives.
Support new product introductions by coordinating internal stakeholders, defining launch plans, and tracking early sell-through and consumer feedback.
Ensure product compliance with labeling, regulatory, and corporate quality standards for cosmetics across markets as required.
Champion a customer-first approach by integrating consumer needs and feedback into assortment, merchandising, and promotional decisions.
Qualifications and Skills – Strategic, analytical, and beauty category savvy
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
3+ years of category management, merchandising, or commercial experience, preferably within cosmetics, beauty, or personal care FMCG.
Proven track record managing P&L responsibility or driving measurable improvements in sales and margin through assortment and promotional management.
Strong analytical skills with experience using sales data, forecasting tools, and Excel; familiarity with BI tools or retail planning systems is advantageous.
Commercial negotiation experience and ability to manage vendor partnerships to achieve mutual objectives.
Understanding of beauty consumer trends, product categories (skincare, color cosmetics, haircare, fragrance), and ingredient/regulatory considerations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in English; additional language skills relevant to the local market are beneficial.
