Procurement Director
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly-experienced and strategic individual to join our team as the Procurement Director. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage our procurement function, ensuring cost-effective purchases and optimal supply chain management. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and strategic sourcing. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance procurement strategies and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities in Strategic Procurement
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies to meet the company's financial and operational objectives.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities through effective negotiation, strategic sourcing, and process improvements.
- Contract Management: Oversee the drafting and management of procurement contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Risk Management: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to manage supply chain disruptions and ensure continuity of supply.
- Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate procurement performance and supplier effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments to align procurement activities with overall business goals.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges in the procurement landscape.
Essential Qualifications for a Procurement Director
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a proven track record of successful procurement leadership.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and insights to inform procurement decisions.
- Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and conditions from suppliers.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a team towards common goals.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications for Procurement Excellence
- MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in the tech or manufacturing industry.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS).
